Dr. Peter Köhler has presided over the Executive Board of the family-owned Weidmüller Group since 2011. Under his direction, the Group has focused on implementing the corporate Strategy 2020 and has established a new brand positioning. These were crucial steps towards transforming Weidmüller from a component manufacturer into a solution provider as well as preparing the company for a successful future. At the same time, Dr. Köhler changed the company’s strategic direction by shifting the focus to the key technology trends digitalisation and Industry 4.0.
After having managed the company for six years, Dr. Köhler has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer and take up a position on the Weidmüller Group’s Supervisory Board to help with the continued implementation of the Group strategy.
Christian Gläsel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: „On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Dr. Köhler for his high level of commitment, his successful management of the Group and for developing and implementing the future-oriented strategy for Weidmüller. He successfully started technological and cultural changes. We respect his decision and are pleased to welcome him as a member of the Supervisory Board."
Jörg Timmermann, Chief Financial Officer of the Weidmüller Group, will assume the position of Spokesman of the Executive Board of the Weidmüller Group on 1 March 2017. Jörg Timmermann will jointly with the Executive Board members Elke Eckstein (operations) and Jose Carlos Alvarez Tobar (sales) continue implementing the Weidmüller strategy and further improve the company’s successful market positioning.
„Jörg Timmermann is known for his entrepreneurial thinking and strong focus on growth. We are delighted that he will take on this new role and will secure the successful future of Weidmüller Group", comments Christian Gläsel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
