Weidmüller's new DC voltage converter ConnectPower DC/DC ensures a stable and electrically isolated power supply. The DC/DC converters with protection class III are particularly well suited to use in earth-free systems. For example, in applications with backup batteries in parallel stand-by mode where the control voltage needs to be electrically isolated from the battery voltage. The compact Weidmüller DC/DC converter is ideally suited to such applications, where it delivers high performance. The DC/DC converter, classified as protection class III and overvoltage category III, also provides high shock and vibration resistance, an extremely thin design, an efficiency of more than 91 percent and a status signal for remote monitoring.
As an all-round star, the PRO-M series DC voltage converter offers users everything they need for a secure, stable 24 V DC supply voltage. The DC/DC converter has a metal clip-in foot for high vibration and shock resistance. The thin device also needs less space. The fact that the DC/DC converters can be arranged side by side and have a width of just 60 mm saves space in the cabinet. Integrated alarm outputs monitor the status of the 24 V output voltage, using PLC controls for example. The DC/DC converter also balances fluctuations in voltage, as occur for example with uncontrolled voltage supplies or drops in voltage caused by load currents. The robustly and compactly designed DC voltage converter (150 mm x 60 mm x 130 mm L/W/H) functions reliably in a wide temperature range of -25 °C to +70 °C. International approvals (cULus, cURus, GL) and TÜV certification mean a huge range of applications can be implemented around the globe.
The DC/DC converter has an internal input fuse. A 16 A / DI/II safety fuse, 16 A, char. B circuit breaker or 16 A, char. C circuit breaker is recommended as the back-up fuse. On the output side, the device has short-circuit and overload protection and a power boost @ 24 V DC (60 °C), i.e. 12 A for 1 min (ED = 5 %).
Various aids are available for visual checking, including a green LED (DC OK) output voltage ≥ 21.6 V, a red LED (fault) output voltage ≤ 20.4 V, DC OK transistor output "1" (max. load): output voltage ≥ 21.6 V (max. 250 mA), DC OK transistor output "0": output voltage ≤ 20.4 V, status of relay contact On/Off: output voltage > 21.6 V / < 20.4 V. Screw connections ensure a secure hold for both the input and output.
Accessories include a diode module (for redundancy power supply) and a capacity module (for pulse triggering of circuit breakers).
