Before the Forum took place in Berlin, Tobias Lindemann visited Amman in Jordan as a member of Ghorfa, the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participating at this German delegation, led by former German Federal Minister and Ghorfa President Dr. Peter Ramsauer and General Secretary Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, he had meetings in Jordan with leading members of parliament, Planning and International Cooperation Minister Imad Fakhoury and Industry, Trade, and Supply Minister Maha Ali. Discussing economic and investment opportunities, especially in the renewable energy and urban planning sector, Lindemann recommended to initiate a governmental photovoltaic roofing scheme in Amman until 2025.
Groundbreaking masterplans and investment strategies were presented at the 18th Arab-German Business Forum in Berlin. From June 8th to 10th, 2015, Ghorfa, together with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, organized more than 600 international participants and 80 speakers.
Main topics were challenges in Arab infrastructure, construction and economy.
Sigmar Gabriel, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Dr. Peter Ramsauer, reelected President of Ghorfa and former German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development, welcomed governmental delegations from all Arab States.
Dr. Tawfiq Fawzan Alrabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia, underscored the importance and dynamics of the Saudi markets as well as the strong business relations of Germany and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. H.E. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohamad Al-Thani, H.E. Prof. Dr. med. Ossama bin Abdul Majed Shobokshi and H.E. Sultan Rashid Al-Khater thanked the German government and Ghorfa for supporting the relevance of the Arab-German friendship.
