Although there is no particular norm for EMC cable glands, they are of major importance for an EMC accordant electrical installation. To ensure an optimum protection, the shield must be connected to earth on both sides and both with low impedance and low inductance. It should not get affected by any external influences, such as climatic changes or vibrations.
Depending on the individual application, WISKA offers two EMC solutions. The contact spring insert (EMV-S) of stainless steel offers fast and save assembly: Its small flexible lamellas wrap the shield and guarantee a 360° protection even at biggest cable diameters. Alternatively, the cable shield is put between a pair of earthing cones (EMV-Z) - this solutions is a absolutely and permanently vibration-proof and also of high ampacity. It is ideally suited for applications on ships, railway vehicles and industrial applications with strong vibrations and high risk of permanent leakage current.
Both products have been measured by an external EMC laboratory and show a long-standing experience in the field of high-quality electrical installation in specially risky areas. They are part of the modular WISKA SPRINT cable gland system and, besides the EMC protection, guarantee permanent tightness complying with IP 68 / IP 69K.
