At the 35th Annual Meeting of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS) in Rome from April 6 to 9, 2016, WITTENSTEIN intens created great excitement among many interested physicians from all over the world with FITBONE®, its fully implantable, intramedullary lengthening nail.
The broad portfolio and diverse applications of FITBONE®, the fully implantable, intramedullary lengthening nail, were outlined in several presentations. Different FITBONE® devices are available for the femur and tibia, for example, or for treating short residual limbs. A version also exists for segment transport with subsequent lengthening as well as a telescope actuator system for MUTARS® growing prostheses following tumour resections and numerous custom-made products adapted to the particular patient case.
