In Benelux haben im letzten Jahr 30 von 100 Stadtverwaltungen, die eine neues Mailsystem eingeführt haben, zur Zarafa Collaboration Platform migriert, 60 zu Microsoft Exchange, die restlichen haben eine andere Groupware gewählt.
Auch in der Automobilindustrie gewinnt Zarafa immer mehr Kunden. Peter Schuster, IT-Leiter der PSW Automotive Engineering GmbH meint dazu: "Wegen der wichtigen Kontakte zu den Partnerfirmen der Automobilindustrie müssen wir mit Outlook arbeiten. Mit Zarafa haben wir die absolut beste Lösung für die Anbindung mit Outlook gefunden."
Zarafa konnte seit vergangem März 100 neuen Partner in Deutschland und Österreich gewinnen. Einige Beispiele sind der bekannte deutsche Maillserver Spezialist Heinlein Support, der Appliance Spezialist SYS-Line, Siedl Networks - Zarafa's erster Gold Partner in Österreich und der deutsche Groupware Spezialist it:25.
Zusammen mit diesen und anderen Partnern gelang es Zarafa im letzen Jahr viele neue Kunden zur Zarafa Collaboration Platform zu migrieren, darunter das Erzbischöflische Ordinariat München und Kliniken wie das Christophsbad in Göppingen.
Ecosystem
Auf dem Zarafa Stand (Halle 2, D40), dessen Größe im Vergleich zum Vorjahr verdoppelt werden konnte, werden viele Partner ihre Zarafa Kompetenz demonstrieren: bitbone AG, Millenux GmbH, CatWorkx GmbH, Inett GmbH, it25 GmbH and Mars Solutions GmbH. Die bitbone AG wird dabei das neue freie Projekt 'yaffas' vorstellen, ein benutzerfreundliches Admininterface, welches die Grundlage für Z-Admin ist. Z-Admin ist auch am Stand zu sehen.
Innovationen herausgestellt von wichtigen Open Source Persönlichkeiten
Zarafa zeigt technische Innovationen wie die Zarafa Collaboration Platform 7.0 beta2 mit Unicode Unterstützung, ein völlig neues IMAP gateway, den Z-Archiver für den Benutzer transparenter Mail Archivierung und die mobile Platform Z-Push mit der neuen Synchronisation für öffentliche Ordner.
Steve Hardy, CTO bei Zarafa, wird die Forschungsergebnisse zur I/O Leistungssteigerung von MySQL präsentieren. Diese neue Entwicklung kann den Festplattengesamtdurchsatz um über 100% steigern. Mark Callaghan of Facebook sagt dazu: "This is very interesting. My workload has too much concurrency already so I am most interested in the change to make records_in_range do less IO".
