The snow cats of the resort require refined Diesel reimported from Europe which is stored in a central 22.000 litre tank outside the ski hall. From the remote tank the Diesel is pumped over a distance of about 50 metres to the fuelling station for the snow cats.
The ZUWA engineers designed a turnkey solution perfectly adapted to the extreme environmental conditions with indoor temperatures of -1° C and an outdoor temperature climbing as high as 52°C during summertime. The massive differences in temperature needed to be respected when conceiving a reliable system.
Three ZUWA Diesel pumps with a delivery rate of 72 litres per minute are now pumping the fuel to the filling station for the snow cats. The dry self priming pumps are doing a perfect job in the demanding environment.
The second requirement of the ski hall management was a mobile backup fuelling system for heavy traffic situations and for refuelling the snow cats out on the slopes. ZUWA solved this task with two filling units for direct mounting onto the barrels plus automatic nozzles.
Since the opening of the ski hall in October the system has guaranteed a smooth operation of the snow grooming vehicles.
"As a mid size enterprise we have the capability and flexibility to meet specific requirements of our customers and can offer individual solutions at reasonable prices" ZUWA's managing director Helmut Wimmer says. "This was our great advantage for the Abu Dhabi project and we are looking forward to new projects of this kind".
