The ‘roboTest R’ ‘automation solution’ is based on a digitally controlled industrial robot possessing extremely high positioning accuracy and flexibility. Its superiority is apparent when faced with complex automation tasks, for example testing at above or below ambient temperature or performing several tests in parallel.
At this year’s Forum for Testing Technologies (13th – 16th October 2008) in Germany, Zwick presented a solution employing a spectrophotometer (HunterLab Ultra Scan PRO). This reflects the importance of color measurement in today’s quality management systems and certifications to DIN, ISO or other Standards. As an example, suppliers to the automobile industry can carry out long term testing programs on new materials which are subjected to light, temperature, water etc. Typical tests are on colored or dyed plastic products.
The automated testing system provides objective criteria, while laboratory staff are relieved of routine tasks and can concentrate on skilled work. Subjective operator influences are eliminated thanks to the high positioning accuracy of the feed system and operation via Zwick’s autoEdition user software.
