Zwick’s range of specimen grips is continually being expanded in order to maximize performance and quality.
New to the range are specimen grips for testing yarns, threads, cord, twines and ropes made of high-strength synthetic fibers and for steel wires, steel wire ropes, steel cords and steel strands.
Many grips require the use of special technologies. Progressive gripping force application, special jaw surfaces and production technologies (e.g. involute load reducing curves), together with load reducing curves up to 270° - all are employed to grip specimens securely and avoid jaw breaks during testing.
The specimen grips’ symmetrical design places their center of gravity near the tensile axis and ensures that no transverse forces are transmitted to the load cell. Other useful features include high-hardness polished jaw surfaces, pneumatic end clamping and a groove to ensure exact specimen positioning on the center line of the test axis.
Operator comfort has also been enhanced – an advanced insertion device allows easy, quick and fatigue-free gripping of material specimens.
