Toyota hat es mit seinem Toyota-Produktionssystem (TPS) geschafft, einer der erfolgreichsten Automobilhersteller weltweit zu werden. Seit den 80er/90er Jahren versuchen es Unternehmen weltweit und branchenübergreifend, diesem Ansatz – mit Hilfe von Lean Management – nachzueifern oder zu kopieren. Da jedoch Lean Management (Toyotas TPS) eine Management-/Unternehmens-Philosophie ist, funktioniert hier kein „Copy-Paste“.
Darum stagnieren die Erfolge bei den meisten Unternehmungen leider nach den ersten guten Implementierungsschritten und die Mitarbeiter unterstützen das System nicht mehr nachhaltig genug.
