Am 05.07.2013 wurde der Interkommunale Bauhof in Beckum eröffnet. Damit beginnt für den Kreis Warendorf und die Stadt Beckum eine neue Form der Zusammenarbeit. Am Interkommunalen Bauhof sind insgesamt 88 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt. Der Kreis ist Mieter des Bauhofs, der 3,8 Millionen Euro gekostet hat. Der Betriebsleiter des Bauhofes und Hauptverantwortliche für die Umsetzung und Planung des Bauhofes, Herr Lemke, übergab dazu bei strahlendem Sonnenschein vor 200 geladenen Gästen die AIDA-Schlüsselanhänger für die elektronische Schließanlage und die Zeiterfassung des AIDA-Systems an den Landrat Olaf Gericke sowie den Bürgermeister Herrn Karl-Uwe Strothmann.
