Alpha Micro, independent specialist franchised distributor of components for Telematics and M2M, today announced that it is offering ex-stock delivery of production-ready part reels of FTDI FT232RL and FT232RQ USB UART ICs. Ideal for electronic design engineers working to extend the life of their legacy equipment, these useful ICs allow users to convert a serial port into a USB port and so link to modern everyday devices. Formerly only available in standard size reels of 2000 ICs and 6000 ICs respectively, the new part reels are available in 250, 500 and 1000 IC units.
