Die European Broadcasting Union (EBU) gab gestern bekannt, dass der 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in der "Baku Crystal Hall" ausgetragen wird. Die Multifunktionshalle wird vom österreichischen Baukonzern ALPINE in Baku, der Hauptstadt von Aserbaidschan, errichtet. Bis zuletzt waren drei Veranstaltungshallen als mögliche Austragungsorte im Rennen. Die Baku Crystal Hall wurde vom diesjährigen Veranstalter, Aserbaidschans öffentlicher Fernsehanstalt Ictimai TV, der EBU als beste Location für die Durchführung des 2012 Song Contest vorgeschlagen.

Die spektakuläre Baku Crystal Hall wird am Platz der Staatsflaggen errichtet und wird der neue Blickfang im Hafen von Baku.
