Amazon Web Services (AWS) stellt heute neue C4-Instanzen vor, die auf Intel Xeon E5-2666 v3 (Haswell)-Prozessoren basieren. Diese speziell für den AWS Service EC2 optimierten Prozessoren arbeiten mit einer Taktrate von 2,9 GHz und können mit Hilfe der Intel Turbo Boost Technologie Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 3,5 GHz erreichen. Sie bieten die höchste Prozessorleistung bei EC2. C4-Instanzen eignen sich insbesondere für den Betrieb von rechenintensiven Anwendungen wie Spiele- und Webservern, Transkodierungen und High Performance Computing.

Die EBS-Optimierung ist standardmäßig für alle C4-Instanzgrößen voreingestellt.
