AMS Technologies erweitert seine Produktpalette für die Faseroptische Industrie um den Comet™ Lasercleaver für Lichtwellenleiterstecker vom Hersteller Sagitta. Das Gerät wird auf Stand B1.301 während der Laser 2007 vorgeführt.

Comet™ ist ein Lasertrenngerät, mit dem die vorstehende Faser eines Steckverbinders abgetrennt werden kann, um diesen für das nachfolgende Polieren vorzubereiten. Bei diesem Prozess werden darüber hinaus vorhandene Kleberreste entfernt. Comet™ richtet sich an Konfektionäre von Lichtwellenleitersteckern-, um zum einen die Ausbeute bei diesem Prozessschritt zu erhöhen als auch die Prozesskosten für die nachfolgenden Polierschritte zu reduzieren.
