Für die Router aus der MLX-Serie von Brocade bietet der Netzwerkspezialist neue Hardware-Module und Software. Die neuen Erweiterungen umfassen alle gängigen Features und begegnen damit den Bandbreiten, der Skalierung und Leistung, die Netzwerke heute verlangen. So bereitet Brocade einen nahtlosen Übergang zu offenen, softwarebasierten und programmierbaren Netzwerken, die in der Branche als "The New IP" bekannt sind.

Um wachsenden Anforderungen gerecht zu werden, entwickelte Brocade Software-Erweiterungen für die MLXe Routing-Plattform der Carrier-Klasse. Diese unterstützen OpenFlow 1.3 mit spezifischen Features für die sichere Anwendung neuer Applikationen und benutzerspezifischer Services. Innerhalb der programmierbaren Brocade MLXe Hardware bietet die Implementierung von OpenFlow 1.3
