Der Vorstoß von Apple-Chef Steve Jobs, Musik online nur noch ohne Kopierschutz - das sogenannte Digital Rights Management (DRM) - zu verkaufen, ist nach Auffassung der deutschen Musikwirtschaft "scheinheilig". "Der Vorstoß von Steve Jobs ist ebenso durchsichtig wie scheinheilig. Apple versucht, seine Probleme mit dem eigenen Kopierschutz zum Problem der Musikindustrie zu machen", sagte Michael Haentjes, Vorsitzender der deutschen Phonoverbände, am Dienstag in Berlin. "Wer im Glashaus sitzt, sollte nicht mit Steinen werfen", so der Verbandschef. Für Apple sei die Strategie, ein für andere Anbieter geschlossenes DRM-System von Software (iTunes) und Hardware (iPod) einzusetzen, der Schlüssel zum Erfolg gewesen, sagte Mtrlorbb xoudma.
