Auf der Embedded World 2023 zeigen Bosch, NXP und Vector CAN-XL-Netzwerke. CAN XL ist die dritte CAN-Protokoll-Generation, mit der Bitraten bis zu 20 Mbit/s möglich sind. Die maximale Datenfeld-Länge eines Rahmentelegrammes beträgt 2048 Byte.

Der eingetragene Verein CiA (CAN in Automation) zeigt auf seinem Embedded-World-Stand (Halle 1/203) zwei CAN-XL-Netzwerke. Eines wird von NXP zur Verfügung gestellt, Es läuft mit 20 Mbit/s in der Datenphase und nutzt die Prototypen-Transceiver des niederländischen Halbleiterherstellers. Die Arbitrierungs-Bitrate ist 500 kbit/s und die Fehlererkennung ist abgeschaltet. Der Demonstrator von Vector ist ebenfalls auf dem CiA-Stand zu sehen.
