The nonprofit CAN in Automation (CiA) association has released the CiA 463 series standardizing the gateway between CANopen resp. CANopen FD networks and I/O-Link. Gateways compliant to this interface profile specification may host multiple IO-Link connections. The process data can be transmitted bidirectional from CANopen (FD) networks to the IO-Link connections and vice versa. On the CANopen (FD) network the process data is mapped to PDOs (process data objects).
