Das Abbildungsverfahren Anisotropie Imaging steht jetzt in der Serienausrüstung des Laser Scanning Mikroskops LSM 710 von Carl Zeiss zur Verfügung. Es ergänzt die speziellen Imaging Verfahren wie RICS (Raster Image Correlation Spectroscopy) und FCS (Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy), die mit dem LSM 710 bereits verfügbar sind. Anwender sind Zellbiologen, Grundlagenforscher in der Biologie, Medizin und Biophysik sowie Physiologen, die insbesondere Strukturproteine untersuchen wollen. Das Verfahren kann zusammen mit spektraler Detektion eingesetzt werden, um die Bildung oder Veränderung von gerichteten Molekülanordnungen zu verfolgen.

Bei Anisotropie Imaging wird das emittierte Lichtfluoreszenzmarkierter Proteine in seinen vertikal und horizontal polarisierten Anteil aufgespaltet.
