Der neue Micra™-CEP von Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR) ist ein einmaliges System zur Erzeugung von Carrier-Envelope-Phasen (CEP)-stabilisierten Ultrafast-Laserpulsen. Das System verbindet Coherent's hochflexiblen und stabilen Breitband-Ultrafast-Laser Micra mit einem Carrier-Envelope-Phasen-Detektionsmodul und einer schnellen Rückkopplungselektronik. Durch die aktive Rückkopplungskontrolle des Lasers locked die CEP-Stabilisierung die Phasengeschwindigkeit des Lichtfeldes auf die Gruppengeschwindigkeit der Pulseinhüllenden. Damit kann bei ultrakurzen Pulsen, die sich nur aus wenigen optischen Zyklen zusammensetzen, der Peak in der Pulseinhüllenden maximiert werden.

Das Herzstück des CEP-Moduls besteht aus einem nichtlinearen Interferometer. Dieses verwendet eine photonische Kristallfaser um eine Oktave des optischen Spektrums zu erzeugen.
