Das Unternehmen Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG aus Neustadt-Fernthal hat mit der Inbetriebnahme einer Photovoltaikanlage Anfang Juli 2023 ein klares Zeichen in Richtung Zukunft gesetzt. Mit dieser Anlage kann der Strombedarf des Familienunternehmens fast zu 100% (bei günstiger Wetterlage) nachhaltig selbst gedeckt werden und somit ein großer Schritt in Richtung Klimaschutz gemacht werden. Oberstes Ziel der Anlage ist es, den jetzt selbst erzeugten Strom weitestgehend selbst zu nutzen und nur die Überschüsse in das öffentliche Stromnetz einzuspeisen.
