In der Wirtschaft besteht ein großer Bedarf an Ingenieurinnen und Ingenieuren. Dass die Zahl der Studentinnen bundesweit in den Ingenieurwissenschaften noch vergleichsweise gering ist - trotz Anteilen von bis zu 33 % in den technischen Studiengängen der Fachhochschule Amberg-Weiden - liegt oftmals an recht ungenauen Vorstellungen über ein Ingenieurstudium und die Berufsfelder einer Ingenieurin.

Um Schülerinnen ein technisches Studium mit seinen sehr guten Berufsaussichten näher zu bringen, bietet die Fachhochschule in Amberg im Rahmen des bundesweiten Girls' Day am 26. April 2007 unter dem Motto "Ich werde Ingenieurin!" einen Informationstag an.
