Seit März 2013 bietet das IT-Unternehmen FASTEC eine Android-App für sein MES-System FASTEC 4 PRO an. Mit dem Mobile Client ist es möglich, die Alarmfunktion des MES-Systems auf Smartphones zu erweitern. Damit kann die Produktion auch überwacht werden, wenn der zuständige Maschinenbediener nicht in Maschinennähe ist. Treten Störungen auf, wie fehlendes Material, wird der Maschinenbediener über sein Smartphone sofort alarmiert. Anschließend kann er die Alarmierung direkt in der App quittieren und entsprechende Maßnahmen einleiten, um die Störung zügig zu beheben.
