Das Contra-Kreis-Theater ist das älteste und größte Bonner Privattheater - es wurde am 20. Mai 1950 mit "Hamlet" eröffnet, musste 1966 dem neuen Stadthaus weichen und hat jetzt schon seit mehr als vierzig Jahren seinen Platz neben der Universität. 19 Stufen führen in den inzwischen noblen Theaterraum, der gleichwohl eine ausgesprochen intime Atmosphäre garantiert. Viele junge Schauspieler, so z.B. Til Schweiger, machten hier ihre ersten Bühnenerfahrungen. Erfahrene Kollegen wie Jochen Busse, Volker Brandt oder Horst Janson schätzen dieses Theater und kommen immer wieder gerne. Charles Regnier, Harald Leipnitz, Gert Fröbe, Gunther Philipp und Wolfgang Spier haben hier gespielt.
