Obwohl sich die Preisdifferenz zwischen neuem und recyceltem PET-Material seit 2013 verringert hat – 2013 lag der Preis für neues PET um 46 Prozent über dem für recyceltes PET – steigt der Anteil von recyceltem PET in der Flaschenproduktion weiter an. 2015 enthielten PET-Getränkeflaschen im Durchschnitt 26 Prozent Recyclingmaterial, 2013 lag dieser Anteil noch bei 24 Prozent. Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft konsumenten- und ökologieorientierte Getränkeverpackungen e.V. (AKÖG) hat 2015 bei ihren Mitgliedsunternehmen sogar einen Rezyklat-Anteil von 38 Prozent ermittelt. Bei manchen Flaschen erreicht der Anteil an recyceltem Kunststoff sogar 59 Prozent. Rund ein Drittel der gebrauchten PET-Flaschen werden in Deutschland im sogenannten lftipk-fj-irrgmy-Kmrvqdgsi zr cikrj Bypqhtsl cexapgekeuk.
