Labortechnologie aus dem Saarland im Kampf gegen HIV/AIDS in Südafrika

Seit 2009 entwickelt eine Technologieinitiative unter Führung des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Biomedizinische Technik IBMT im Saarland Labortechnologie. Gemeinsam mit kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen und unterstützt vom Ministerium für Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft steht die Initiative »Labor der Zukunft« für Entwurf, Entwicklung und Förderung der zukünftigen Generation von Labortechnologie. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Technologiebereichen benötigen Bau und Betrieb moderner Labore die vertikale Integration von Handwerk über Ingenieurtätigkeit bis hin zur Grundlagenforschung. Die Herausforderung besteht darin, High- und Low-tech-Zulieferer in die Lage zu versetzen, in einem Projekt zusammenzuarbeiten.
