Europäischer Forschungsrat vergibt mehr als eine Million Euro an Physikerin der Freien Universität Berlin

Ein Forschungsvorhaben der Experimentalphysikerin Prof. Dr. Stephanie Reich von der Freien Universität Berlin wird mit 1,1 Millionen Euro durch den Europäischen Forschungsrat (ERC) gefördert. Die Mittel kommen dem Projekt "OptNano: Quantum Optics in Nanostructures" zugute, in dem erforscht wird, wie Licht von winzigen Strukturen absorbiert, verarbeitet und emittiert wird. Ziel des Projektes der Grundlagenforschung ist es, mehr über Materialien zu erfahren, die eine Ausdehnung von lediglich wenigen Nanometern haben - ein Nanometer entspricht dem Milliardstel eines Meters. Die Fördermittel sollen unter anderem verwendet werden, um ein neues Labor für hochauflösende Spektroskopie auszustatten und neue Mitarbeiter einzustellen.
