(pug) Privatdozent Dr. Andreas Honecker vom Institut für Theoretische Physik der Georg-August-Universität hat ein Heisenberg-Stipendium der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) erhalten. Die DFG fördert damit seine Forschungsarbeiten zur Quantentheorie der Festkörper. Der Göttinger Wissenschaftler untersucht magnetische Isolatoren und andere korrelierte elektronische Systeme mit konkurrierenden Wechselwirkungen. Mithilfe numerischer Verfahren sollen dabei neben Grundzustandseigenschaften und Thermodynamik dieser Systeme auch Eigenschaften wie der Transport von Wärme und Ladung erforscht werden. Ziel ist die Modellierung spezieller magnetischer Materialien. Für einen Zeitraum von zunächst drei Jahren stellt die DFG dafür Fördermittel in Höhe von mehr als 50.000 Euro jährlich zur Verfügung.
