The GeoFund is an umbrella program of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) for geothermal energy-related subprojects in the Europe and Central Asia regions. It offers instruments to provide assistance and funding to project developers of geothermal energy projects and institutions promoting the enhanced use of geothermal energy. Its overall objective is to systematically promote the use of geothermal energy in the participating countries by removing barriers to the development of geothermal energy leading to greater diversification in energy use and increase in demand for, and supply of, geothermal energy projects.
