Der Münchner Technologiekonzern Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) sichert künftig die Anwendungen in der elektronischen Geldbörse von Telefònica Deutschland - der O2-Wallet. Das Telekommunikationsunternehmen ist im Februar als erster Netzbetreiber mit dem Einsatz seiner Wallet in Deutschland gestartet. O2-Kunden bezahlen im Rahmen eines Friendly User Tests mit ihrem NFC-fähigen Smartphone und entsprechender NFC-SIM-Karte weltweit und kontaktlos in allen teilnehmenden Geschäften. Zukünftig wird die O2-Wallet durch weitere Anwendungen wie Gutscheine oder Treueprogramme ergänzt. G&D stellt für die elektronische Geldbörse in der Pilotphase die NFC-SIM-Karten sowie den TSM-Dienst (Trusted Service Manager) bereit.
