Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) wurde auf der internationalen Fachmesse CARTES 2012 in Paris für seine Mobile Wallet-Lösung "SmartTrust Portigo" mit dem diesjährigen Sesames Award ausgezeichnet. Die Vergabe des Preises erfolgte in der Kategorie "e-Transactions". Bei SmartTrust Portigo handelt es sich um ein neues Lösungsangebot, mit der sich klassische Brieftascheninhalte, etwa Bezahl- und Kreditkarten, ID-Karten, Treuekarten, Fahrscheine oder Zugangsschlüssel, per Smartphone nutzen lassen. Mit SmartTrust Portigo eröffnen sich für Mobilfunkanbieter, Banken und andere Diensteanbieter eine Vielzahl neuer Geschäftsmöglichkeiten. Für Anwender ist die Lösung sehr einfach zu bedienen, alle Dienste lassen sich über eine gemeinsame Bedienoberfläche nutzen.
