Laut WWEA (World Wind Energy Association) werden weltweit für 2011 43,9 GW Neuinstallationen erwartet. Der Zuwachs für das erste Halbjahr 2011 lag 15 % über den Vorjahreswerten. Das Zusammenspiel zwischen WEA-Auslegung und Gründungskonzept ist bei der Begutachtung von entscheidender Bedeutung.
