Der PCI Express Mini Card Slot ist heutzutage aufgrund seiner vielseitigen Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten gängiger Standard. Für die Realisierung von bis zu vier zusätzlichen seriellen Schnittstellen auf Embedded Boards oder in kompakten Embedded Systemen bietet ICP Deutschland mit dem MPCIE-UART-KIT01 eine Full-size PCI Express Mini Card an. Die Erweiterungskarte verfügt über vier serielle RS-232/422/485 Schnittstellen, die z.B. für die Mess- und Automatisierungstechnik ein klare Bereicherung sind, da dort noch viele serielle Endgeräte zum Einsatz kommen. Alternativ bietet ICP das MPCIE-UART-KIT02 an, das neben den zwei RS-232/422/485 auch noch mit zwei 8 Bit GPIO Ports ausgestattet ist.
