AIDA hat Geburtstag

Anlage zur Aerosolforschung im Forschungszentrum wird 10 Jahre alt

Mit AIDA (Aerosol-Interaktionen und -Dynamik in der Atmosphäre) verfügt das Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe über eine weltweit einzigartige Anlage zur Untersuchung von Aerosol- und Wolkenprozessen unter atmosphärischen Bedingungen. Einer der Vorteile von AIDA ist ihre Thermostatisierbarkeit über den gesamten in der unteren und mittleren Atmosphäre relevanten Temperaturbereich: Untersuchungen können zwischen -90°C und +60°C durchgeführt werden. Seit ihrer Einweihung im Mai 1997 wurde die Anlage für zahlreiche Messkampagnen eingesetzt. Daran beteiligten sich 25 Partnerinstitute aus 10 Ländern.

Nach einem weitgehenden Umbau steht AIDA nun rechtzeitig zu ihrem zehnten Geburtstag wieder für den Messbetrieb zur Verfügung. Aus diesem Anlass findet am Montag, dem 71.
