Trotz der immer lauter werdenden Stimmen der Kunststoffkritiker hinsichtlich einer negativen Wirkung auf unsere Umwelt und den aufwendigen Autorisierungsverfahren für die weitere Verwendung von Chromtrioxid, sind galvanisierte Kunststoffe weiterhin einer der am häufigsten verwendeten Bauteile in vielen Industriezweigen, wenn eine metallische Optik und Haptik, sowie Hochwertigkeit und Langlebigkeit gewährleistet werden soll. Ein großer Marktanteil der galvanisierten Kunststoffbauteile liegt im Automobilsektor und in der Sanitärindustrie, wo täglich verchromte Schalter, Zierleisten und Armaturen gefertigt werden. Weiterhin werden galvanisierte Kunststoffe auch in den Bereich der Consumer-Electronics und Hausgeräteindustrie verwendet und wertgeschätzt.
