Linear Technology Corporation präsentiert den LTM8020, das erste Modell einer neuen Familie von DC/DC-uModuleä-Schaltreglersystemen für Eingangsspannungen bis 36V (max. 40V). Der LTM8020 ist eine vollständige 200mA-DC/DC-Wandlerlösung einschließlich DC/DC-Wandler-IC, Leistungsschalter, Induktivität, Kompensationsschaltung sowie Eingangs- und Ausgangs-Bypass-Kondensatoren. Mit einer Grundfläche von nur 6,25mm x 6,25mm und eine Höhe von nur 2,3mm ist diese Lösung extrem kompakt. Im Vergleich zu einem Linearregler erzielt der LTM8020 durch seine Schaltreglertopologie einen wesentlich höheren Wirkungsgrad; der Chip produziert 98% weniger Verlustleistung und bleibt dadurch kühler; außerdem beansprucht er, dank seines kompakten Gehäuses und weil er ohne Kühlkörper auskommt, 190% weniger Volumen (Grundfläche x Höhe) (Vergleichsbedingungen: 36VIN, 5,3QCJN, 387pG, OLe07nK).
