Linear Technology Corporation präsentiert den LT3693, einen 3,5A/36V-Abwärts-Schaltregler im DFN-Gehäuse (3mm x 3mm) oder MSOP-10E-Gehäuse. Der LT3693 hat einen weiten Eingangsspannungsbereich von 3,6V bis 36V und eignet sich dadurch bestens für automobile Anwendungen, bei denen einerseits hohe Eingangsspannungsspitzen, andererseits aber auch Spannungseinbrüche beim Kaltstart "abgefedert" werden müssen. Sein interner 4,6A-Schalter kann bei Spannungen bis hinab zu 0,79V bis zu 3,5A Dauerausgangsstrom liefern. Die Schaltfrequenz ist im Bereich 200kHz bis 2,4MHz programmierbar. Dadurch hat der Entwickler die Möglichkeit, den Wirkungsgrad zu optimieren und die Störstrahlung in ein unkritisches Frequenzband zu verlagern; zugleich können sehr kleine externe Bauelemente eingesetzt werden.
