Die automatisierte Schweißkopfführung mittels MEL Laserscanner stellt sicher, dass sich der Schweißkopf immer in der idealsten Schweißposition relativ zur Schweißfuge befindet.

Der Laserscanner erzeugt quer zur Schweißrichtung eine Scanlinie. Dadurch lässt sich das Höhenprofil der Oberfläche exakt ermitteln. Mittels der Software MEL SeamTrax wird die Schweißfuge automatisch erkannt. Anhand der kundenspezifischen Parameter für die optimale Position des Schweißkopfes wird der Antrieb gezielt angesteuert, damit der Schweißvorgang immer aus der besten Position heraus erfolgen kann.
