Bundeskanzlerin Dr. Angela Merkel wird die Internationale Luft- und Raumfahrtausstellung ILA2008 am 27. Mai im Rahmen eines 90-minütigen Rundgangs eröffnen. Begleitet wird sie von Verteidigungsminister Arakkaparambil Kurian Antony, dem Repräsentanten des diesjährigen Partnerlandes Indien, Michael Glos, Bundesminister für Wirtschaft und Technologie, Matthias Platzeck, Ministerpräsident des Landes Brandenburg, Harald Wolf, Bürgermeister von Berlin und Senator für Wirtschaft, Technologie und Frauen, sowie Jürgen Thumann, Präsident des Bundesverbandes der Deutschen Industrie (BDI). Die Veranstalter der ILA2008 werden durch Dr. Thomas Enders, Präsident des Bundesverbandes der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V. (BDLI), sowie Raimund Hosch, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der Messe Berlin GmbH, repräsentiert.
