Michelin wurde von internationalen Reifenexperten zum "Reifenhersteller des Jahres" gewählt. Die hohe Auszeichnung erhielt der französische Reifenhersteller im Rahmen der "Tire Technology Expo 2010" in Köln, der weltweit wichtigsten Fachmesse für Reifenproduktion und entwicklung. Die Reifenexperten würdigten mit dem Preis unter anderem die Leistungen des Forschungs- und Entwicklungs-Zentrums in Clermont-Ferrand. Die Michelin Gruppe investierte in den vergangenen Jahren bedeutsame Summen und erweiterte die Forschungskapazitäten, um die Produktivität zu erhöhen und die Produktzyklen zu verkürzen. Innovative Produktionsprozesse leisten einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Effizienzsteigerung in der Reifenherstellung.
