Der MICHELIN Primacy 3 erreicht beim aktuellen Sommerreifentest der Fachzeitschrift AUTO BILD (Heft 9/2012) das Prädikat "empfehlenswert". Die Test-Profis nahmen bei ihrem "Superreifentest" in diesem Jahr insgesamt 50 Sommerreifen der Dimension 225/45 R 17 W/Y unter die Lupe. Aber nur 15 von ihnen schafften überhaupt den Sprung ins Finale der Besten. Der neue MICHELIN Primacy 3 gehörte dazu und überzeugte in der zweiten Runde vor allem durch den geringsten Rollwiderstand im Testfeld. Gegenüber dem Letztplatzierten in dieser Disziplin sparte er bei der 10.000-Kilometer-Marathon-Verbrauchsfahrt unter realen Bedingungen sieben Prozent Kraftstoff.
