Micro Crystal AG, der führende Hersteller von Quarzen, Oszillatoren und Echtzeituhren hat das populäre 32 kHz Oszillatormodul weiterentwickelt und bietet es nun in einem ultrakleinen Gehäuse von nur 1.2 * 2.0 * 0.7 mm an. Im hermetisch dichten Package ist außer dem IC auch der Quarz untergebracht. Mit einer CMOS-Last liegt der gesamte Stromverbrauch bei nur 1.4 μA. Im Stand-by Mode läuft der Oszillator weiter (i=0.45 μA), somit muss keiner Anlaufzeit wie bei AT-Oszillatoren Rechnung getragen werden. Durch die Kalibration während der Modulfabrikation ist die Genauigkeit der Frequenz höher als bei Lösungen mit externem Quarz.
