Wie bereits in Asien wird das neu entwickelte Kompaktmodell auch in Europa "Mirage" heißen, teilte die Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) mit. Auf dem diesjährigen Pariser Automobilsalon "Mondial de L' Automobile" (27.9. bis 14.10.2012) ist die Linkslenker-Europaversion des besonders CO2-armen Modells erstmals zu sehen.

Gebaut wird er im neuen Mitsubishi-Werk in Thailand, der größten MMC-Produktionsstätte außerhalb Japans. Die Markteinführung in Europa ist für Anfang 2013 vorgesehen.
