Ab sofort bietet die MTU Maintenance Hannover ihren Kunden auch die Instandsetzung der Triebwerke GE90-110B und -115B an. Dr. Stefan Weingartner, Vorstand Zivile Instandhaltung der MTU Aero Engines, erklärte: "Damit erweitern wir unser Produkt- und Service-Portfolio am Standort Hannover um diesen weltweit erfolgreichen Wide-Body-Antrieb."

Die Vorbereitungen für die neuen Antriebe laufen in Hannover auf Hochtouren. Der erst kürzlich erweiterte Prüfstand ist bereits in der Lage, dieses schubstärkste Triebwerk der Welt aufzunehmen. Auch die Zulassungsbescheinigungen der europäischen Behörde European Air Safety Agency (EASA) sowie des USamerikanischen Pendants, der Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), liegen vor.
