Antikörper COVID-19-Geimpfter erkennen andere Strukturen des Spike-Proteins als Antikörper SARS-CoV-2-Infizierter

Einige COVID-19-Impfstoffe nutzen als Antigen-Zielstruktur eine veränderte (stabilisierte) Variante des Spike-Proteins des Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Ein vom Immunsystem bei SARS-CoV-2-Infektion erkanntes Antigen ist das unveränderte Spike-Protein. Ein Forschungsteam des Paul-Ehrlich-Instituts konnte beobachten, dass die nach Impfung gebildeten Antikörper im Vergleich zu Antikörpern nach Infektion unterschiedliche lineare Strukturen des Spike-Proteins erkennen. Verglichen wurden Antikörper im Blutserum von mit Comirnaty (BioNTech/Pfizer) Geimpften mit Antikörpern im Serum von COVID-19-Rekonvaleszenten.
