Einweihung neuer Hochfluss-Solarsimulator - Fachvorträge Solarchemie

Am Freitag, 4. November 2005, ab 9.30 Uhr bis ca. 14 Uhr, findet am Paul Scherrer Institut in Villigen die Einweihung des neuen Hochfluss-Solarsimulators statt. Mit dieser weltweit leistungsstärksten Anlage können Solarchemie-Reaktoren erforscht und getestet werden, die zur Herstellung von solaren Brennstoffen (Wasserstoff) und Hochleistungs-Werkstoffen dienen. Im Brennpunkt der neuen Anlage lässt sich die Strahlkraft von mehr als 10'000 Sonnen konzentrieren. Die Untersuchungen solarchemischer Prozesse profitieren dank des Simulators von stets gleichen Strahlungsbedingungen und werden zudem wetterunabhängig. Diese Forschung des PSI zusammen mit der ETH Zürich zielt hin auf eine CO2-freie und nachhaltige Energieversorgung.
