Das InnovationsForum Photonik bildet auch in diesem Jahr wieder den feierlichen Rahmen für die Verleihung des Kaiser- Friedrich-Forschungspreises. Die mit 15.000 Euro dotierte Auszeichnung honoriert herausragende Forschungsarbeiten im Bereich Optischer Technologien. Überzeugt von der enormen Wichtigkeit dieses Forschungspreises ist auch das Niedersächsische Ministerium für Arbeit, Wirtschaft und Verkehr und fördert daher die Preisverleihung des Kaiser-Friedrich- Forschungspreises 2013.

Im Mittelpunkt des Festprogramms 2013 stehen Fachvorträge zum aktuellen Wettbewerb "Photonics4Energy".

Der diesjährige Schwerpunkt des Kaiser-Friedrich-Forschungspreises liegt in der Anwendung von photonischen Technologien im Umfeld von Energieerzeugung, Energiespeicherung, Energietransport und Energieoptimierung.
