Eine neuartige Nanokraftmesseinrichtung für horizontale Kräfte kleiner als 10-5 N wurde entwickelt und als Prototyp aufgebaut. Das Messprinzip basiert auf einer Pendelscheibe mit elektrostatischer Steifigkeitsreduzierung und einer elektrostatischen Kraftkompensation (s. Jahresbericht 2006). Zur Reduzierung der thermischen Drift sowie des seismischen Rauschens besteht die neue Einrichtung aus zwei identischen Messkanälen. Beide Kanäle basieren auf einer leitenden Pendelscheibe, die zwischen zwei Platten aufgehängt wurde. Sie bilden jeweils zusammen zwei Plattenkondensatoren. Zwischen die parallelen Platten und die Pendelscheibe wird eine Gleichspannung angelegt, mit deren Hilfe man die Steifigkeit im Bereich von 1·10-1 N/m bis hinunter zu 10-3 N/m einstellen kann.
