Magnetische Felder von Mikro- und Nanostrukturen

Die PTB hat gemeinsam mit der Universität Göttingen ein Verfahren entwickelt, um die Magnetisierung und das Magnetfeld kleinster Strukturen quantitativ und rückgeführt zu bestimmen. Dies wird — in Kombination mit einer magnetooptischen Methode — erstmals rückgeführte magnetische Messungen auch mit der räumlich extrem hoch auflösenden Magnetkraftmikroskopie ermöglichen.

Die magnetischen Streufelder mikroskopischer Strukturen, die größer als etwa 300 nm sind, kann man mit der indikatorgestützten Magnetooptik (MOIF) bestimmen. Dabei wird die Rückführung gewährleistet, indem das Messsignal anhand bekannter makroskaliger Felder kalibriert wird. Um die Magnetisierungsverteilung der Proben daraus zu bestimmen, muss man das gemessene Streufeld mathematisch invertieren.
